Being apolitical, I hesitated long time before posting about the war in Gazza, but how would a “human” be insensible to what’s happening. Officially it is a war against Hamas, but so far, more than 500 dead and 2000 injured hardly justify it, especially if we see the “quantity” of “female and young meat” left along the streets (sorry for the sarcasm). This also does not justify bombing Mosques, Ministries, the Islamic University and the American School.
OK, let’s say that Israel has its reasons to bomb hamas, housewives and pupils, but there’s something I’m not able to understand: When you try to count the amount of CO2 thrown in our lovely nature in plane trips by Americans for “establishing” peace between Israeli and Palestinians, and you hear that U.S thwarted an effort by Libya on Saturday to persuade the U.N. Security Council to call for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza (just to cease fire not more), I wonder in what world are we living …
Gerda Lerner, American historian said:
What we do about history matters. The often repeated saying that those who forget the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them has a lot of truth in it. But what are ‘the lessons of history’? The very attempt at definition furnishes ground for new conflicts. History is not a recipe book; past events are never replicated in the present in quite the same way. Historical events are infinitely variable and their interpretations are a constantly shifting process. There are no certainties to be found in the past.
Definitely, this is true, but let me add my comments related to this conflict: nowadays adults grown up with Israeli occupation, this also includes Arab countries and Arab populations (where Israel is not on the top 10 list of friends), U.S is supporting Israel’s policy, Arabs are exploding themselves in the “enemy’s” supermarkets: this will never stop and you know why, because no one will never ever forget the killing of innocent people (from both sides), that will just feed hate and transmit it to future generations. The relation with Miss Lerner? This war is simply another brick into the wall of violence, a mistake repeated over the years.
The pictures that follow are hard to see, I know I should not post such material, but I’m asking you, lovely reader, away from that hell to imagine for a moment, for just a second that the boy is your son, your baby, that the crying woman is your mom and that house is the house you spent years paying and still (with the crisis, you’ll probably not, but that is another story) … I know that you as well as I cannot do anything to stop this war but let’s just say that we do not accept it and tell it to our friends and neighbors. Who knows, you might be Mr. Bush reading this and my words might convince you to send Condi to … Peru to negotiate Guatemala’s economic problems.

It is unbiliveble that the UN council could not reach a condamnation for this genocide.
Where are the Human rights that weatern countries are promoting? Where is Geneve agreement about conflicts and wars.
it is reaaly a shame…
Killing children is becoming a popular sport these days, but the only one to blame is Hamas, they gave ‘israel’ a reason to do this genocide, while sending some metallic pieces that never hurt any one.
les rockets de hamas ont tué plus qu’un et pas seulement en israel,
partout des hommes et des femmes sont morts de rire quand ils ont vu ces jouets metalliques
I acknowledge that no military action is desirable and I am powerless to start or stop them; but all must realize that isrealis will take whatever action they can that will save isreali lives and so would you
Moncef: human rights, democracy, terrorism … are relative concepts whose meanings depend on ‘who rules’, that’s all. Take Bush 2001′s definition of terrorism and you’ll find that it fits perfectly what Israel is doing, but Bust just declared yesterday that fire cannot cease until bla bla bla
Ken: First of all, thank you for joining the debate (this will prove that in this world, there is at least an Arab and an Israeli that can lead a discussion without fighting). I agree with you when you say that nothing could be done right now, but i disagree when you say ‘whatever it takes’, may be I’m not in your position, but honestly don’t see that a Pepsi-Can-Rocket justifies killing innocent children. Jews are known by their wisdom throughout the ages, why are you insisting on the military solution? This will just make Palestinians and Arabs hate you a little bit more. The only solution i see is a Palestinian State that will ‘contain’ all this hate, and do the dirty job for you.
I feel so sad about this whole situation but there is no solution for it even with the UN coz they are with America and they one follow what America tells them……and the only way this war is going to stop is if America wants it to stop other wise nothing is going to happen…..
i feel so sad too …
when the night becomes shining
blastes deafning our ears and the light of bombes shining up to the sky
it4s then when the night becomes shining.
i realy hope to solve this big big problem.
but in my opininon the problem is us we have to put our hands with each other we have to help our brothers over there even just by our bessech to god.
may god belss them and sooner or later we will see our palistine that i called it by our paradise free inchalah
à bas israel
I really liked the phrase “Pepsi-Can-Rocket” said by Walid. Israeli media try to show how sever is the damage of Hamas rockets, they keep playing a video showing how much the quantity of broken glass in the streets. You could compare those videos with pictures of killed children in Gazza, you see the size of Hamas-rockets propaganda.
stupid asshole bush started all this!
i demand that we help the gazza war!!!
WHOS IN WITH ME!
Very good observations. Really. I just wonder why is the other side of the story omitted. Google some pics of Israeli hurt boys, Israeli crying mothers and Israeli ruined houses.
Its always important to show a full picture of reality, and not just the one you want to promote.
Stop the war.Life could be better.
